Another Tuesday in the books. There were extra items in the schedule for the 7s today. We completed some bus drills in the morning – we were in and out much quicker than I anticipated, so atta go 7s. The second item was a presentation from the Expressions Group here at Stonepark. This is an after school program that initiated last year with much success and is looking to increase their numbers this year. I have brochures for any students interested and if you’d like a little introduction to the program here is a video clip that should help.

Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program –

Les sciences humaines 7A – The students completed some review questions first thing this morning. The questions were based on the previous topics studied in this unit – Ancient Egypt. We began working on stations for Egyptian Mythology but were interrupted by the morning bus drills. We’ll continue next class.

Les sciences humaines 7B – I’ve returned the quizzes today. For a first quiz, the students did well. Some students struggled but we should see improvements as the year progresses. We took things up a notch and tried some advanced questioning for the unit. The students worked with a partner to review their notes and answer some questions based around Egyptian mythology, geography and hierarchy.

Les sciences humaines 7C – The class was cut short due to the Daily Physical Activity Program. We were able to get enough time to work on our comparison activity. The students were to hand in their copy and I will have them marked for tomorrow. Some students were not happy with their work but once I have a good look at it, I will figure out the next step in case students are not successful.

Les mathématiques 7C – We completed our textbook work for the unit today. I introduced a review document that is available in the mathématiques folder. I will not be checking for its completion tomorrow but the students know they should spend time working on their translations, reflections and rotations for our test (Monday, October 22).

FLA 7C – We reviewed our unit questions and phrasing. They worked on the chromebooks today to research a favourite athlete and complete a presentation using the phrasing studied in class. The goal is for the students to complete an assignment using the personal questions studied at the start of the year, description phrasing for activities and phrasing for expressing preference.
