Here’s what we got up to today.
Les mathématiques 7C – We really got into the second unit on adding and subtracting positive and negative integers. I have attached my powerpoint for how we add positive and negative integers using square tiles (les carreaux). We worked from the textbook today and some students did not get to finish all the class work in time; I have the homework listed below. Second item to note is I will start some ‘reach back’ homework once all students have completed the Unit 1 test. I should have something organised by the end of the week or Monday by the latest.

FLA 7C – We completed some self-editing work on our preferred athlete assignment. I’m hoping the written production component from the course will benefit from that activity. We tackled the Bescherelle today and I think we nailed it. The students spoke some confidence in its use and really started to recognize how valuable of a tool it is. The lesson covered two classes but we will structure future activities and assignments around its usage.
Les sciences humaines 7B – The students are really getting quite comfortable with the material and some are making extra efforts to impress me with their answers. Lots of stars were handed out today. We began looking at the gods and goddesses of Egyptian mythology and will continue on that tomorrow.
