It was a bit of an exciting day today as some of our classmates were playing in the Boys AA Soccer final. We were fortunate to use part of our last period of the day to cheer the boys on. It was also announced today that the leadership team has planned another ‘Haunted Hallway’ for the students next week. The hallway will be open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (the 29th, 30th and 31st) with an entrance fee of 2 dollars or a non-perishable food item for the local food bank. Here’s what we got up to today.

Les sciences humaines 7A – We went over our research for some of the Egyptian Pharaohs. The class was cut short due to our scheduled Daily Physical Activity.

Les sciences humaines 7B & 7C – We continued our Egyptian Mythology research activity and organized the information in our student notes. The students will move onto the pharaohs next class.

Les mathématiques 7C – Confidence is high for using ‘les carreaux’ (square tiles) our first strategy for adding and subtracting positive and negative integers. I introduced a second strategy using a number line. We used temperature to guide our initial study. I have attached the presentation in the mathématiques folder. We’re moving quickly but confidently it seems.

FLA 7C – We only had a chance for our daily review and an introduction to our next assignment. To incorporate our verb and bescherelle knowledge, the students will give the play by play for a sport video. For homework, the students need to research and find a short video of a sports play or moment they can use to dub in commentary much like a sports caster. The video is needed for Monday, October 29th.
