Joyeux lundi. Here’s what we got up to today!
Les sciences humaines 7C – We took a second turn watching an introduction video for Mesopotamia. The students shared a few things from the video to demonstrate their understanding of the content. We then worked on the map located on page 13 and it is to be coloured for tomorrow’s class. We also have our quiz tomorrow on the hierarchy – there is a review page in the sciences humaines folder.
Les sciences humaines 7A – We completed page 14 comparing Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. We completed the notes together and everyone should have the same information. I’ve added something extra to the unit – The Hammourabi Code. The students examined some laws real or perhaps fictional from the Babylonian society of Mesopotamia. We will go through the laws tomorrow to see how well we identified the the true from the false.
FLA 7C – We completed some review and practiced our description questions. The students were wanting to ask questions about siblings – using the third person singular – so I needed to add something unplanned to our notes. I’m hoping to make use of these notes in the coming classes. We discussed what we learned from the video and applied a lot of the sentence structures studied in class.
Les mathématiques 7C – We essentially finished the conversion of fractions to decimal numbers today. We identified the patterns in our answers and developed rules for the conversion of particular fractions. We’re moving onto percentages tomorrow. It was a double class today so I took the oppportunity to try some problem solving questions today. It was fairly guided to ensure comprehension but the math portion was left to the students. The first time is always stressful but we will attempt this type of assignment three more times in the future and we should see more confidence with each one.
