Jeudi le 6 décembre

Apologies, this week has been busy and I have not updated this blog since Monday. There’s a few things on the go here at Stonepark. Next week, Tuesday December 11th there will be a Winter Wonderland Social for our 7s, 8s and 9s. There is a 5 dollar admission fee. I know there will be games, music, snacks and a photo booth. It’s a great time and I’m encouraging all the students to attend. The following day, Wednesday, December 12th, is Red and Green Day. Students are asked to wear red and green and donate a dollar for our Stonepark Families during the holiday season. There are a few more activities on the go the following week but I will save that info for later. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

Les sciences humaines 7B & 7C – We’re finishing up the unit and we’re looking at a test next week or the week following. I will have a date confirmed tomorrow for the students. We’re having some fun examining ancient laws used in Mesopotamia and using them to inspire some rules for the classroom.

Les sciences humaines 7A – We’re working on an essay comparing Ancient Egypt and Ancient Mesopotamia. Using our notes, the students are supporting the thesis that two societies held much in common. I’ve updated the powerpoint I’ve made based on what they know and what they need help with in terms of organising their essay – La rédaction. The due date for the essay is Wednesday, December 11th and we will working with the chromebooks the next few classes to complete the assignment.

Les mathématiques 7C – We’re finishing up and reviewing the third unit on fractions, decimal numbers and percentages. We are having our test on Monday, December 10th. There’s plenty of resources in the math folder for the students to use for studying and I’ll give them some extra guidance tomorrow for their studying over the weekend.

FLA 7C – We’ve moved onto food and beverages. The students have been completing some surveys for the class identifying the preferred snacks and beverages of their classmates. We’ll be working a few things around food – restaurants, ordering, traditional dishes, etc.
