Bonjour, bonjour. We received a challenge today from the Student Leadership team for Literacy Day. For Literacy Day we have been challenged to bring in either a gently used book (for junior high readers) and/or non-perishable food donations. The challenge is over on January 30th. The person who donates the most will win a $30 Indigo gift card, 2nd place gets a 5 book set of Gregor the Overlander. Here’s what we got up to today.
Les sciences humaines 7A & 7C – We scheduled a geography quiz for Monday, January 28. It will be a multiple choice quiz with 12 to 15 questions. The students were instructed to review pages 1 to 4 in their student notes to prepare. We reviewed geography and some mythology but spent more time on the social structure of Athens and Sparta.
Les mathématiques 7C – First, we reviewed factoring numbers. We have been using this to help us reduce fractions. We had some practice yesterday and a little today. Secondly, we reviewed identifying the multiples of numbers. We used this a little today for adding fractions of different denominators. We’ll spend tomorrow’s class focusing on that. I’m hoping to have the tests back to the students tomorrow as well. The homework is uploaded for today and tomorrow – in case some students need the head start. I’ve uploaded my presentations for those who are absent but I’m having trouble uploading the worksheets. The presentations do include some practice questions to complete.
FLA 7C – We reviewed our questions and I have been adding questions to verify their listening and understanding of other students’ answers. We worked on some reading and writing today for our ‘improved diet suggestions’ writing assignment. They should spend some time at home reading the sample out load to practice pronunciation.
