It was a great day at Stonepark. We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to speak to Canadian Astronaut, David Saint Jacques from the International Space Station. We were also blessed to have Astronaut Jeremy present with us at the school to lead the discussion and presentation. It was really, really cool. Here’s what else we got up to today.
Les sciences humaines 7A & 7C – We completed our task of identifying economic activities of Ancient Rome. We then moved onto an evaluation task where the students were given a sample paragraph from the recent essay assignment and they played the role of teacher using the rubric. The hope was give students a better understanding of how their own essay was evaluated and identify ways of improving it. I did promise the students that if they wished, they could make corrections and resubmit their essay.
Les maths 7C – We had our circles and area unit test today. I should have those corrected by the end of the weekend and the tests will be given back next week once everyone has written the test. Next week, we will be writing our first foundational quiz. I have not assigned a date as I will be surprising the students with it. If the students have been doing their ‘reach back’ homework they should be sufficiently prepared for the quiz as it on all the units we’ve covered thus far.
